Why are some people afraid of monsters?

There is this human who is backpacking and he stays at this very remote motel. When he is eating he discovers that he is surrounded by werewolves, vampires, zombies and every kind of monster you could think of and then some.

I am not arguing with this guy. Besides, Vincent Price was super smart, witty as they come, quick with a joke and played with people who dared interview him.
